Axel Public School's Eco Club, 'Axel’s Green Warriors,' embarked on a day-long program to Deepor Bill to commemorate World Wetlands Day 2024 on February 2. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about wetlands conservation and contribute to the 'Save Wetlands Campaign,' with the theme ‘Wetlands and Human Wellbeing,’ an initiative by the National Museum of Natural History, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The members of Axel’s Green Warriors engaged in various activities focused on preserving and conserving wetlands. They participated in a cleanliness drive, cleaning the banks, and spreading awareness about the importance of wetlands by raising slogans.
Axel Public School also conducted a special morning assembly on January 11, 2024, dedicated to the Save Wetlands Campaign. The assembly commenced with an interactive talk on the importance of wetlands conservation, highlighting the flagship Program of the Honorable Prime Minister to mitigate climate change. The students pledged to volunteer as 'Wetland-Mitra' to keep our Wetlands healthy.
As the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, celebrated World Wetlands Day today at the Sirpur Ramsar Site, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a video showcasing the pledge-taking ceremony of Axel Public School was screened at the official function attended by Dr. Musonda Xoliswa Mumba, Secretary-General of The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and other senior officials from states and the Central Government.
